Royal Historical Tours was set up by myself Ian Darragh and my wife Aisling Darragh. We have three young children and twelve years ago we moved from busy Dublin City to the beautiful heritage town of Trim County Meath which is steeped in ancient Irish history. After moving to Trim I fell in love with the history and places of historical reference in County Meath.

I was captivated by the history and scenery of Trim such as Trim Castle 1169AD, Yellow Steeple and Newtown Monuments along with Irelands Oldest in use Bridge to name but a few. It was then that I embarked upon a wonderful journey of studying genealogy and then tour guiding and obtained my QQI Diploma in Tour guiding from Portobello College in Dublin and separately my genealogy diploma. After many years of tour guiding throughout Ireland I decided to set up Royal Historical Tours.

Our tours are designed exclusively for you and your party only. We do not group share. Our vehicle is an eight-seater vehicle enabling Royal Historical Tours to take seven passengers comfortably. It has tinted windows for privacy, a black leather interior and is fully air-conditioned.
